The strangest sports in the world
What do Harry Potter, chess, camels, mud and giant logs have in common? They are all protagonists of the strangest sports in the world! Crazy disciplines, invented and practiced all over the world, from Italy to Australia to the United States: these sports really exist and some are even protected by official federations. Here is a first example: the race on office chairs, invented in Japan in 2019!
Calcio storico fiorentino
This sport mixes rugby and boxing and is very violent, but at the same time suggestive. In fact, it recalls the history of Florence, with the players of the four historic districts that compete in June, in the historic piazza Santa Croce. The prize for the winner is very special: it is in fact a cow!
Camel race
Camel racing is a popular sport in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Australia and Mongolia. Did you know that camels can reach 65 kilometers per hour in shots and maintain a speed of 40 kilometers per hour for an hour?
Cheeserolling
This sport is based on running and the main feature is that players have to roll along the steep slopes of the hills to chase a cheese wheel. In Cheeserolling the winner is the one who arrives first at the finish line. What is the prize? Obviously the cheese shape! This sport is considered very dangerous: in the descent, in fact, the form can reach 130 kilometers per hour.
Chessboxing
The Chessboxing combines taxation and mind: in fact, this sport mixes boxing and chess. The discipline was born in 2003 and the two challengers face each other alternating a round of chess and one of boxing. The bout can end by KO or checkmate.
Wife's transport
The Wifecarring originated in Finland in 1992 and takes place every year in early July. The race consists of an obstacle course in which competitors must carry their wives on their shoulders overcoming pools of water and barriers. The fall of the wife carries a penalty of 15 seconds. The first arrival wins a quantity of beer equal to the weight of his wife.
Highland Games
The Highland Games are sporting events that take place every year in Scotland and include several sports, dances and traditional events. Among the most important disciplines there is the throwing of the trunk, a sport that requires a lot of concentration and a lot of physical strength!
Quidditch
Yes, Harry Potter 's sport has become a reality! The aim of this sport is to score more points than the opposing team, passing the ball through one of the three rings placed at the edge of the playing field. Participants must move holding between their legs a broom that unfortunately (unlike those of Harry Potter), is not flying!
Regata delle zucche
Widespread in Germany and also in Canada, the regatta uses giant pumpkins instead of canoes. The boat is truly a pumpkin, which is emptied entirely by those who compete. The winner is the one who arrives first, but points are also awarded based on the size of the pumpkin.

What is the most strenuous sport in the world?
According to a research promoted by Espn, a US television station entirely dedicated to sport, the discipline that implies a greater overall effort of our body, resulting therefore the most tiring ever (as well as one of those that involves the greatest risk of serious injuries), is boxing.
The study took into account, for each discipline analyzed, multiple parameters including strength, endurance, speed, agility and coordination required in the race, to be related to the average expenditure of energy, both physical and mental.

Imagination, intuition, keen eye and speed of execution. Formula 1 drivers employ these skills, on the track, to try to file down a tenth of a second in each corner, and off the track to taunt their colleagues.
When they take off their helmets, some prefer to relax, locking themselves in motor homes, alone or with family members.
Others, however, are eager to have fun and often do so by pulling pranks on teammates or other team members. We have chosen some of the most successful ones on and off the track.
