Alpine Skiing: the most famous World Cup slopes

To get to compete worldwide in alpine skiing there is only one possibility: to be born on skis. These athletes compete in the most beautiful and evocative places in the world, on the most difficult and fastest tracks that always offer an incredible spectacle.

Obviously the Alps dominate, with Italy, Switzerland and Austria undisputed leaders for the beauty and difficulty of the slopes, but the tracks in the United States, in the mountains of Colorado, are also remarkable.

In this short presentation here are the historic slopes of the Alpine Ski World Cup.

Olimpia delle Tofane - Cortina d’Ampezzo
It will be the perfect stage for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics. Legendary is its narrow wall between two large rocks, one of the most iconic images of the entire Ski World Cup.

Gran Risa - Alta Badia
1 km track, you get to walls with 60% gradient. The departure is from Piz La Ila to 2077 meters above sea level, and after 650 meters in altitude you get to the village of La Villa.  Track most famous for the giant slalom

Saslong - Val Gardena
Historic slope in the World Cup, it is located in the heart of Val Gardena, one of the most beautiful places in the world to ski or snowboard. It starts from 2254 meters of altitude. On the calendar for over 50 years, it offers a magical view of the Dolomites.

Kitzbuehel from Austria
This Austrian slope is the most famous, the most beautiful was the most important of the entire Ski World Cup calendar. 800 meters in altitude, it has frightening walls, capable of intimidating even the most experienced skiers. Only for strong hearts.

Wengen from Switzerland
There is 1200 meters in altitude for one of the longest and most technical slopes of the entire World Cup. The "pyramids" Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau are the backdrop to the first walls. It is one of the 2-3 slopes where ski champions "graduate".

Beaver Creek - Colorado (USA)
The track is called Birds of Prey, birds of prey. This would be enough to understand the difficulty of the descent that goes between 3483 and 2730 meters of the ski area of Vail - Beaver Breek, in Colorado (USA).

La Thuile - Valle d’Aosta
