Simona Halep takes it out: 'they are killing my career'

Simona Halep, the strong Romanian tennis player and two-time Slam winner, once again denounces from her social pages what is happening to her. 

The former number one (from 2017 to 2018) is suspended for alleged doping for eight months and a hearing against her continues to be postponed.

Officially suspended on 7 October 2022 after testing positive for roxadustat at the US Open in August, she is now accusing anti-doping bodies of damaging her record.

'They are not only killing my reputation, but also my career'. The Romanian faces up to a four-year suspension. According to her, the illegal substance was only found due to a contamination of a food supplement.

Hearing postponed
The tennis player wrote: 'The ITF (ITIA) (International Tennis Integrity Agency acting on behalf of the International Tennis Federation) has again and for the third time postponed my hearing for a month. I have been waiting to be tried since last October. I asked, as required by the anti-doping rules, for a speedy hearing, it is my right, it is written in the rules'.
